Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 23, 2026

MasonView LLC, doing business as SWIB ("SWIB", "we", "us", or "our") operates the event-hosting platform at getSWIB.com and related domains (swib.me, my.sowhenitbe.com). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.

SMS / text messaging: If you opt in to event reminders by text, we collect your mobile number, the event you chose, and your reminder times. We use that information only to send transactional reminders for that event (and sign-in codes if you use phone sign-in). We do not sell or share your number or SMS opt-in data with third parties for their marketing. See section 3 below and our SMS Program Terms.

1. Information we collect

When you use SWIB we may collect:

  • Account information — name, email address, and mobile phone number you provide at sign-in or when creating an event.
  • Event RSVPs and check-ins — which events you say you're attending, any comments or reactions you post, and whether you checked in at the door.
  • Reminder opt-ins — when you click "Remind me" on an event page and enter a phone number or email, we store that contact detail, the event it's tied to, and the reminder times you selected (e.g. 1 day before, 1 hour before).
  • Payment information — if you purchase a ticket or merch, Stripe processes the card directly; SWIB only receives a transaction ID and the amount.
  • Device and usage data — standard web logs (IP address, user agent, pages viewed) used for security, debugging, and abuse prevention.

2. How we use your information

  • To operate the SWIB platform and deliver the events, tickets, and features you ask for.
  • To send event reminders by SMS or email only to the events and times you opted into.
  • To send transactional messages you request (sign-in codes, receipts, RSVP confirmations).
  • To prevent fraud, abuse, and spam.
  • To comply with law, respond to lawful requests, and protect the rights and safety of users.

3. SMS / text messaging consent and data sharing

We do not sell, rent, lease, or share your mobile phone number, SMS opt-in data, or email address with any third party or affiliate for their marketing or promotional purposes.

Phone numbers collected for SMS consent are used exclusively to deliver the reminder and authentication messages you asked for through SWIB. The only third party that ever sees your number for SMS is Twilio, Inc., which we use solely as a telecommunications carrier to transmit those messages on our behalf. Twilio is contractually prohibited from using your number for its own marketing.

You can opt out of any SMS campaign at any time by replying STOP to a message, clicking the "Stop" link inside a reminder, or contacting us at hello@getSWIB.com. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies based on how many events you've opted into and the reminder times you selected (up to 5 per event).

4. Service providers we use

We share the minimum data necessary with a small number of vetted service providers, and only for the purpose of running SWIB:

  • Twilio — transmits SMS reminders and sign-in codes.
  • SendGrid — transmits email reminders, magic-link sign-in, and receipts.
  • Stripe — processes payments for tickets and merch.
  • Cloud hosting — runs the SWIB servers and stores encrypted backups.

None of these providers are authorized to use your information for their own marketing. SMS opt-in data is never shared with any party outside of Twilio, which needs it to route the message.

5. How long we keep your data

Account and event data is retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period after to support fraud prevention, tax records, and legal compliance. Reminder subscriptions are automatically deleted after the associated event ends.

6. Your rights

You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@getSWIB.com. Residents of California, the EU/UK, and other jurisdictions with privacy laws may have additional rights under CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, or equivalent — we honor those requests globally.

7. Security

We use industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest, limit internal access to personal data on a need-to-know basis, and log administrative access for audit.

8. Children

SWIB is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us their data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, announced by email.
